Senate Bill 3 would authorize local municipalities to pass

Bill 694, a statewide photo speed radar bill, and HB 385,
a bill to authorize photo speed radar in Montgomery County,
will both be heard in the Environmental Matters Committee
on 3/11/02. The companion bill, Senate Bill 455, was heard
in the Senate Judicial Proceedings Committee on 2/13/03 and
is still awaiting a vote. A red light camera repeal bill,
Senate Bill 246, is also in the Judicial Proceedings Committee
awaiting a vote.

1696, sponsored by Del. Michèle McQuigg, was passed by
the Militia Police & Public Safety Committee on 1/18/03,
but the bill was re-referred to the Committee and on 1/31/03,
the bill was defeated on a tie vote. SB 840, sponsored by Sen.
Fred Quayle, passed the Senate and died in the House Militia,
Police and Public Safety Committee. |
