MOTOR VEHICLE FATALITIES IN THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA IN THE YEAR 2004: 43

Although the District has a relatively small population, it is unquestionably a symbol of leadership for the country, and the fact that it has some of the strongest highway safety laws in the nation is a potent message. Moreover, since its inception, Advocates has worked with local leaders in its hometown and will continue to work toward raising the nation's bar on highway safety.
